In looking through past entries on My Migraine Connection, I came across a great entry by Blogger Nicole about the stigma of taking medication for chronic migraines:

Social Consequences

I don't know about you, but I have definitely encountered the attitude that if one is able to get by in life without needing to take medication every day this is a result of their personal fortitude and responsible habits. The reality is that it is pure luck. Some of us were born predisposed to disabling conditions or diseases that are often only successfully managed with medication. I guess it is easy to be judgmental when you have no idea what it is like to live with chronic illness.
