can't live without

We all have a list, short or long, of things we absolutely must have with us at all times or be completely lost. In the ten years or so that I've been using triptans to treat my migraines, my medication has become a permanent entry on my list. As my migraines became worse, lots of other odds and ends found their way onto it.

After all these years, I hardly expected to find myself stuck in the car and without a necessity, yet this very thing recently happened. I was driving home from my parents' house with a migraine and felt so incredibly nauseated I was on the verge of throwing up the whole drive back. I'd have given anything for the peace of mind of a plastic shopping or food storage bag like my mom used to always have for me when I was a kid.

My list currently includes:
  • sunglasses
  • migraine treatment medications (3 types)
  • painkillers
  • anti-nausea medication
  • aromatherapy roll-on
  • anti-bacterial hand gel
  • lotion
  • tissues
  • wet wipes
And I need to add a plastic bag to my list, obviously.

What is on your list? Does your health impact your list? Any tales of forgetting an essential and suffering as a result?
