A preliminary study published in Headache: the Journal of Head and Face Pain indicates that Namenda (memantine HCl) holds promise for use in migraine prevention.

Memantine in the Preventive Treatment of Refractory Migraine

I've been taking Namenda since January in hopes it will prevent some of my migraine attacks. I've been taking 30 mg and I will be increasing to 40 mg since I saw Dr. Krusz this week. I have not experienced any side effects since starting the medication, so giving this option a good, long try has been a relatively pleasant experience. I hope it might make a big difference.

Are any readers successfully using Namenda?
