Trying to figure out what to do with unneeded and out of date medication is a hassle for anyone, but particularly for those of us who use medication to manage our chronic health conditions. One great option for safe disposal is the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) National Prescription Take-Back Day.

This year's National Prescription Take-Back Day is set for Saturday, April 28, 2012. Though the event is a national effort, is is carried out by local law enforcement agencies that sign up to participate and carry out the actual collection efforts.

To find a collection site in your area visit: National Take Back Initiative Collection Site Search.

The program is free and the officers do not require you to provide any personal information to participate.
