I'm participating in the Migraine Awareness Month Blogging Challenge every day in June.

Today's prompt is: "Say What?!" What's the most ridiculous thing ever said to you about Migraines, who said it, and under what circumstances?
At first I thought it was going to be hard for me to respond to this prompt because I try really hard not to hang on to the stupid things people say. It just drags me down, and I don't need that at all. Then it came to me. The stupidest, rudest thing anyone has ever said to me about my migraine disease.

I used to be a member of a message board of women who met when we were all planning our weddings in the early 2000s. We subsequently moved on to a new message board that wasn't tied to wedding planning to keep the group together. A new girl joined the group for whatever reason and took an instant disliking to me. Sometimes people just start off on the wrong foot, and she most certainly did. Rather than dipping her toe in the water and slowly getting to know people, she came out of the gate attacking people and saying hateful, hurtful things.

I was open about my migraine disease on that site because I wanted to help other members also living with it. For whatever reason she said to me, "The reason you have so many migraines is that you're a bitch."

She didn't know me from a hole in the ground and obviously knew nothing about migraine disease, but man was I pissed off. What a stupid, rude thing to say to someone! I'll never understand people whose first instinct is to be nasty and hateful.

But hey, at least I've never had anyone I know and care about say anything that hateful to me.
