I'm overjoyed to share some awesome news with all of you: We now have an official patient organization for people living with migraine and other headache disorders: the American Headache & Migraine Association (AHMA).

The executive committee of the American Headache Society, a professional organization of more than 1,500 doctors, nurses and other medical professionals, voted unanimously to approve establishment of this new patient organization at their recent annual scientific meeting. The AHMA is part of the AHS American Council on Headache Education (ACHE).

Just as exciting is our announcement that we'll have our first AHMA patient conference November 17, 2013, in conjunction with the AHS annual meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. We'll be working on ways to make it as affordable for everyone as possible and hope that announcing the date now will help everyone plan ahead and save up to attend. The conference will feature presentations for patients on a variety of migraine-related topics for patients and our loves ones.

There will be a total of 10 board members: 5 patients and 5 doctors. Very soon we will know and announce the names of the officers of the new organization, launch a new website and start taking memberships.

I'll keep you posted as more details are nailed down and let you know when you can start to join. For months I've been nearly bursting with excitement about this, so I'm thrilled to finally be able to fill you guys in.
