This year marks the sixth annual Headache on the Hill, but this was my first time attending. It's sponsored by the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy (AHDA), a coalition of groups who care about improving things for people living with Headache Disorders.
Our message was focused and compelling this year, and it resonated strongly with many of the Congressional members and staff we met with. I've written in more detail about our message and what we asked of our Congressional representatives in a piece for Migraine.com, which I encourage you to read.
Headache on the Hill 2013: Migraine is Prevalent, Costly, Neglected
I also plan to put together a slideshow of photos from my time in DC and share that with you guys. I can't wait to go back for the seventh annual Headache on the Hill. I hope more of you will be able to join us in 2014. It's truly a wonderful, worthwhile event to be part of. You can join the AHDA's mailing list to stay up-to-date on this and other advocacy opportunities at this link: AHDA Mailing List.
