Wednesday Wisdom for Migraineurs: November 6, 2013

For this week's Wednesday Wisdom for Migraineurs we're talking about that all important concept of pacing yourself.

"Pace yourself.
Ask for help.
Be flexible.
Respect your limits."

Believe it or not, I'm already planning for our Thanksgiving meal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know it's only November 6th and Thanksgiving Day isn't until November 28th. But I have to plan ahead. 

I LOVE hosting Thanksgiving and cooking, but even with all the help my husband always offers, it's still a ton of work. It's hard work for a healthy person, but it can be downright brutal for a sick person. 

So I'm taking the idea of pacing myself to heart and planning way ahead. I already have my grocery list made and a list of everything we want to make with a notation of when it will be made (ahead, day before or day of). I'll start working on fruit pies this week or next week and freeze them. I'll make the mashed potatoes (they reheat beautifully if you make them with milk, butter & cream cheese),  sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie the day before. Hopefully. Anything I don't get done I can ask Cliff to help me with. He's a great hosting and cooking partner.
